Improving reduced dynamic models of power system

J.E. VanNess, PAS 95 No. 4, July/August 1976, p. 1013 (abstracts)

One Method of Forming a reduced order model for studying the dynamics of large power system allows the configuration of the model to be specified and then varies certain designated parameters in the model to give it the desire eigen values. The Eigenvalues of the system specify the modes of response, and the eigensvectors give the distribution of these modes of response over the variable of the system. By minimizing the difference between the eigenvector in model and the original system, the accuracy of the model can be improved. An algorithm for the minimization is presented.
